§ 342.06(2) Making a false statement in an application for certificate of title
Summary
To be guilty of this offense, the prosecution must prove that the defendant is a person who knowingly made a statement that was false, and that the false statement was made in an application for a certificate of title.
Elements of the Offense
- Knowledge: The defendant must knowingly make the statement.
- False Statement: The statement made by the defendant must be false, and the defendant must know that the statement is false at the time they make it.
- Application for a Certificate of Title: The false statement must be made in the context of an application for a certificate of title.
