Wisconsin State Law Library

The Wisconsin State Law Library is located in Madison, Wisconsin in the Risser Justice Center. (Directions)

Government Documents are located on the third floor of the library. These materials feature select publications from US government agencies.

The Locked Case is found on the second floor next to the Circulation Desk.

Microforms are located on the third floor in low, gray cabinets.

The Microfiche Area on the third floor houses finding aids for our microfiche and microfilm collections on a shelf above the microform readers.

Current Periodicals are housed on the second floor near the Reference Desk.

Periodicals are located on the third floor.

Prose & Cons - Books / Videos are shelved on the third floor behind the Rare Book Room.

The Rare Book Room is on the third floor.

Our Ready Reference collection is located on the second floor at the Reference Desk.

The Rare Book Room Overhead Bins are on the third floor of the library in the Rare Book Room.

The Rare Book Room Drawers are on the third floor of the library in the Rare Book Room.

Newspapers are located on the second floor of the library in the Current Periodicals area.

The Reference collection is housed on the second floor of the library.

Staff Offices throughout the library house these materials.

Treatises are located on the second and third floor of the library, arranged by Library of Congress call number. Ask a librarian for assistance locating materials.

Compact Storage is located on the third floor of the library. Ask a librarian to help you open the movable shelving.

Coffee Table books are available throughout the second and third floors of the library on tables near soft seating areas.

Dictionaries & Atlases are available on a stand near the Reference Desk on the second floor of the library.

Movies are located on the third floor behind the Rare Book Room - shelved with the Prose & Cons collection.

The Vertical File is located on the second floor at the Reference Desk.

The Judicial Council collection is housed on the second floor next to the Wisconsin section.

The Locked Case Cabinets are found on the second floor, beneath the Locked Case - which is located near the Circulation Desk.


Milwaukee Legal Resource Center

The Milwaukee Legal Resource Center (MLRC) is located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the Milwaukee County courthouse. (Directions) MLRC is currently awaiting a move to its new location in the courthouse. We will post a floor map when this move has occurred.
